The Eighteen Xs MkII is a one channel transformer coupled microphone preamplifier, DI, line amplifier and passive Pultec equaliser. It’s an Class A design based upon our hybrid amplifiers.
The equaliser is the Lindell take on the magical classic Pultec design. We have also incorporated our famous ”Mix Knob” from the 17X compressor. This means that you can parallel equalise your line input. This gives you more flexibility and a way of creating new tones….
Up to 65db of gain
Transformer coupled balanced inputs and balanced outputs
High impedance DI input
passive Pultec equaliser. Inductor + hybrid gain make-up amplifier
”Mix Knob” a dry wet, parallel processing knob where you can blend the dry line input signal with the eq’d output
The Seventeen Xs MkII is a one channel transformer coupled compressor/limiter. It’s a FET (field effect transistor) design that incorporate some new and exclusive features such as ”High Pass Sidechain Filter”, ”Mix Knob” mix between dry and wet signal (parallel compression), ”Signal High Pass and Low Pass Filters” that colors the sound nicely.
The 17Xs is our take on the classic ”1176 Sound”. It can be smooth or it can be a rock’n’roll monster when using ratio 100:1 (all in).
FET style compressor
Variable mix control for precise parallel compression
• MK1 1-inch capsule 5-micron Mylar, evaporated gold diaphragm • Cardioid pick-up pattern • High-pass filter & -10dB pad switches • Variable capsule bias voltage: 48 – 60v • Miktek T7 transformer by AMI • Individual serialized frequency response graph • Wood presentation case with swivel-mount and shock-mount
The Miktek C1 large diaphragm FET condenser will impress the most critical listeners and inspire artists to create their best performance.
The microphone features a tightly controlled cardioid pick up pattern. In addition, the C1 employs a high-pass filter and –10dB pad for recording loud sound sources. The frequency response is warm on the bottom and silky-sweet on the top, yet at the same time, the midrange is natural and open. The microphone produces amazing results when recording acoustic instruments, guitar amps, or as overheads on a drum kit. But of course, the C1 really excels on vocal applications.
